The downside to camping in a tent is that you are going to need a lot more preparation. You are going to have to be prepared to use public washrooms. You are also going to have to be ready to do your own dishes as well as other menial activities.

If you instead looked into travel trailer rentals then some of these things would be taken care of. If you had a used class a motorhome then you would not have to worry about the dishes thing because you could leave dish washing supplies in the rv all year around. It would also be much more sanitary to do this with the running water in your motorhome than in some kind of container at the nearest watering pump. You would also have a shower in your camper that you would not have to share with others. This alone can be a big selling point for some people. If this is high on your list then there are lots of motorhomes for sale; we recommend you look.

If it rains you are also much better off in an rv than in a tent. A big windstorm might just blow a tent over and leave you with no choice but to sleep in your car; sleeping in your car does not sound like a good camping trip does it?

On the downside, you are going to spend a lot more on an rv than on a tent. Something else to keep in mind is that you can take a tent almost anywhere but a large motorhome could be restricting. Many campsites will not let you stay there with an rv; there are many that only allow people to sleep in tents. This is generally done because it creates a more natural experience for all the other people that want a true taste of the outdoors.

Which one is right for you? That’s depends how you weigh the variables.
