BMW’s new sports car concept revealed

BMW has unveiled an all-new concept car at the Villa d’Este Concours in Italy. Called the 328 Hommage, the two-seater sports car is designed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the BMW 328 racecar.
“With the BMW 328 Hommage, we wish to pay homage to the passion and inventiveness of the fathers of the BMW 328″, explains Karl Bäumer, CEO of BMW Group Classic. “They created an icon, which is considered a milestone in the history of the automobile.”
The roadster features trademark BMW styling cues and gets retro-inspired design touches like the asymmetric windscreen and bonnet mounted leather straps. More >
A6 Avant set to lighten the load

It’s classier, lighter and more economical, but the new Audi A6 Avant exactly matches the outgoing estate for boot space.
Now on its seventh version, the latest model plays it safe with a design that only makes subtle changes to the profile.
However, it’s in the detailing that you can see this is an all-new car. Marked out by standard twin exhausts, a small spoiler and silver roof rails, owners can further highlight its classy appeal with optional 3D-effect front and rear LED light clusters.

Aston V12 Zagato

Aston Martin has revealed details and images of its first tie-up with design-house Zagato, since the two worked together for a limited run DB7 in 2002.
Based on the V12 Vantage, the new model – called the V12 Zagato – commemorates the 50th anniversary of the very first Aston-Zagato project, the DB4GT.
Dr Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin said: “The Zagato design language is a perfect complement to our design and engineering expertise. After 50 years of the two companies being associated with each other the partnership has produced some of the world’s most iconic cars.”

Saab signs fresh deal with Chinese firm Pangda

Saab has taken another step towards securing its long-term future by signing a deal with major Chinese distributor Pangda, just a week after negotiations with Hawtai fell through.
Victor Muller, CEO of Spyker, who own Saab, told journalists on Monday that Pangda has agreed to purchase Saab in two stages – starting with an emergency cash injection of €30m to get the (currently closed) factory moving again and pay-off its indebted suppliers.
Essentially this payment is a massive pre-order for cars that Pangda can sell and distribute in China, and Swedish newspapers are reporting that the money has now been successfully transferred, More >

It’s the ultimate A1 – and these are the best pictures yet of the hot hatch that will take the fight to MINI’s John Cooper Works and the upcoming VW Polo R.
